Question about fillings...?

I recently got fillings. amalgam (two surfaces) on #9, and a silver filling on #12. The dentist I believe, had to file down some parts in my crowded mouth (I couldn't see exactly what was happening).

Now, I can feel chalky residue (I guess it's the filling?) on the backside of #9 that doesn't come off with brushing. It's not smooth like it used to be and it feels like a piece of scotch tape is stuck on the tooth.

And, due to the filing of some teeth, my bite has changed. When I close my mouth, it feels like teeth 9, 10, and 11 are hitting my bottom teeth sooner than it used to. It's uncomfortable.

My question is, what's what part of this is expected and what part is unusual?

Thanks for your kind responses.

Question about fillings...?
It sounds to me (I'm a dental assistant) like you need to go back to your dentist. #9 is a front tooth, and he/she probably placed a composite (tooth colored) filling in it. If it feels rough or "chalky" it probably needs to be polished up a bit. If your bite feels "off", it needs to be corrected. Your dentist should provide these services for you at no charge, since he/she apparently changed your bite. If, after seeing your dentist, you are still unsatisfied, you may want to consider going elsewhere.
Reply:Sometimes it's normal, the dentist just didn't grind down the filling smoothly enough. After a while it should grind down to fit your bite, if it's still uncomfortable i'd suggest to call your dentist back.
Reply:Go back to the Dentist he will work it down for you.I've had to go back as many as 3 times before.I have trouble biting down to my natural bite when numbed up.If you don't it may actually fracture,or chip another tooth
