Cost for laser fillings?

My dentist pointed out that there are 7 teeth that have slight decays and he needs to do some laser fillings to fix them (one tooth costs around $150-300, so I can't imagine paying more than a thousand dollars just for fillings!). The decays are not severe or huge, they are just little, tiny black dots on the surface or side of my tooth and there are several of them. I realise I do have those little decays because I have 'poor' oral hygiene maintenence, I rarely floss because i found flossing makes my gum bleed and I decide to stop it.

I know decays can cause problems later in the future if i don't get my teeth fixed now. However, I haven't felt anything on my teeth yet and I have these tiny decays since i was still at school about 10 years ago. Do you think it's worth having a fillings now?

so if there are 7-8 teeth (one tooth can have a couple of decays, so that's counted as two surfaces?) that are impacted by decays, does it mean I'll be paying heaps of money?

Cost for laser fillings?
You really need to get them filled while they are small...The less tooth touched is better for your tooth. Weather it is a laser or a traditional drill it's all going to be the same price it matters how many sides of the tooth are involved in the decay. As for flossing you should do it everyday and yes your gums will bleed for the first 2 wks or so but it's becuase they are soo inflammed from the plaque build up that they freak out. But if you do it everyday and bite the bullet and deal with the pain and bleeding you'll be fine. Bleeding of the gums is a sign of infection of the gums know as Gingivitis which is a milder infection or if it's really bad it's periodontal diease.

IF you let the decay get worse so it goes in to the nerve you'll need a root canal or if it breaks also you'll need a crown and then you're going oto be paying over 2000 for one tooth instead of 1000 for 7

You just need to get them done a lot of offices will work with you are there are financial plans that you can apply for to get the work done.

But the only answer is Go Get then FILLED
Reply:I hate to say this, but you're really going to need to get the fillings. If you don't get them, your teeth will start to hurt very badly sooner or later. Also, try flossing every day. The reson that your gums bleed is

because the tissue is swelling and you're not doing it enough. If you do it every day for at least a half of a month, you'll be amazed at the difference of how it feels. Just brush and floss good after your fillings and you won't have to get them again!
Reply:I can't help but be sceptical about laser dentistry that finds these holes. It seems strange that they are conveniently accessible for the laser, "on surface or side of my tooth".

"Little, tiny black dots" are sometimes just that, and nothing more than insignificant staining in the grooves. In such accessible positions it has nothing to do with flossing (but you should do it anyway).

I'd suggest a 2nd opinion from a non-laser dentist. You should also have had Xrays, and you can ask for copies to take with you.
