I just got 2 fillings a week ago and my teeth and jaw still hurt, is that normal? They were the silver fillings.
My fillings still hurt?
When you have dental work done your jaw is open for a long time and your numb making it difficult to get the bite just right. You may need to return to your dentist to have it adjusted.Even if its very minimal it can cause discomfort while chewing and cold sensitivity. As your chewing your aggravating the nerve making it sore. When you have it adjusted it still may take a few days to return to normal just monitor it and the symptoms should decrees considerably.
Reply:same as previous answer,
Muscles can be tender from being open for long periods, and also from being numb esp if on lower back teeth.
Again fillings may be a little too high, which can be adjusted by the dentist. This would be painfull when biting.
Or did the dentist say they were deep fillings? may have been close to nerve.
If things dont settle shortly make an appointment to go back, just a short review appointment
Reply:it shouldnt be, i got two at the same time before, and they didnt hurt me at all. not even the day before or nothin. i think you should get it checked out
Reply:Get Sensodyne, it helps with sensitive teeth and usually when you get a filling, that tooth becomes sensitive ( well I know mine have since my last filling, it gave me pain for 3 months off and on!) The dentist told me to use Sensodyne for a while then to just buy REGULAR toothpate, because I was using whitening toothpaste and that tends to aggrivate the fillings.
And sensodyne has worked!
