Fillings have fallen out - what do i do?

my fillings in my two front teeth fell out over the weekend





i dont know what to do - i have a dental appt 12th march, shall i ring them now and get in sooner or wait til then? lol probably a daft questions but i dont know what to do, nor do i know why they fell out!!

I've had that happen as well and funnily enough i didn't do anything until my next dental appointment. But than again - i didn't realise they fell out until i had my appointment. It fell out when i ate some macadamia nuts!





I'm not an expert but you should have your fillings replaced once in a while. The reason it may have fallen out could be because it was loose cos it was not make properly or the bonds between the filling and your tooth was not strong enough.





I think its best to go see you dentist though and get it filled in again as you don't want to have to deal with food getting stuck in your teeth and may cause more decay. Though - if you think you can handle that, than do what you feel is best for you at the time; if you wait than drink milks, brush your teeth thoroughly (3 times a day), and floss!

Reply:call them up and ask for an emergency appointment or a cancellation, tell them what has happened and I`m sure you`ll get booked in to see them within the week.
Reply:I cant wait that long. If your dentist cant accomodate you, go to another dentist who can replace your fillings.
Reply:Make an appt. soon.. You could get bacteria in your teeth and cause further problems.. if you get too much decay.. you might need to replace the teeth or need a root canal..

Reply:Food Lion sells the temp. fillin stuff u can put on teeth til your appointment, but if they start hurtin, get to the dentist.


Enamel Care toothpaste may help thicken teeth.
Reply:go to your local chemist and a product is available to temporary fill the teeth and costs about £4-5.in round figures,otherwise contact nhs direct and get there advice.
Reply:Make it out to be worse than it is on the phone with the nurse. Then "camp out" in the Dr.'s office while begging and pleading.


Or, cry your heart out to every Dr. in town on the phone. You're sure to get a "come on in".

Reply:Ring the dentist immediately, tell them what happened, they have obviously done a rubbish job of it.
Reply:They fell out because they were not fitted properly, make new appointment.

Reply:oh you should tell your dentist bout it. tell your dentist that your fillings fell off on your front teeth and you want to have it back. it's hard to smile with a broken front teeth.





%26gt;it would be worse if it will not be fixed immediately because the broken part will accumulate bacterias and the drilling would be bigger. just don't take it for granted.





%26gt;just tell your dentist honestly that you don't know why they fell off... ok talk to the dentist as you talk to your friend so that you will not feel nervous. bring your ipod or whatever so that you can listen while their drilling (it minimizes noise).

Reply:phone up and say that you have some fillings that have came out ,they will if they have any space fit you in, but dont expect straight away, in the meantime just brush your teeth as normal.
