No,

Gray fillings contain less than 5% mercury, which is acceptable by the national drug administration of all countries. http://www.studiodentaire.com/en/treatme...

But most dentists recommend do use white fillings, including myself.
Reply:Actually, the mercury vapors in the silver are gone very quickly. The filling itself is very safe. Noone, to my knowlege, has ever died because they had silver fillings in their mouths. The only advantage to the white fillings are that, first, they look great. And then... they bond to the tooth so that, mechanically, you can remove less tooth structure to place the filling. The disadvantage to silver fillings is that, after many years, gaps and cracks can form allowing decay to burrow under the filling. The way to prevent this is to see you dentist twice a year. This way, with careful watching, these old fillings can be replaced before they can cause problems.
Reply:Dental amalgam has been used for 150 years, and there have been ZERO documented cases of people getting sick from them. ZERO. Amalgam does not cause MS, cancer, or anything else. There may be a dozen reasons to use something else, but causing sickness is NOT one of them.

Reply:The amount of mercury in fillings is minimal and most of the vapors have long since left your body.... the American Dental Association does not recommend removing silver fillings simply to get rid of the mercury....as a matter of fact it is considered MALPRACTICE by the ADA to do so....
