Space between teeth after fillings?

I got a bunch of fillings and after I thought it was a sharp edge on some of the teeth that was cutting my tongue so when I went for an adjustment because another tooth was too high the dentist (different from the one that put in the fillings) tried to fix that too but I just said it was good enough 'cuz it seemed a little better but now I realize it's not sharp edges, but small spaces between the teeth that causes my tongue to be pinched when it happens to go in the spaces. They're very small spaces, but big enough so floss goes in between the teeth really easy, no resisitance at all like with all the other teeth. Will the teeth go closer together on their own so there isn't a space between them? What do I do? I don't want to have the fillings re-done, but I'm sick of my tongue getting pinched all the time. Is this normal? Has anyone else had this happen?

Sounds like your Dentist did not close the contacts between your teeth. This can be very bad because you will pack food there and get sore gums and breakdown of the tooth. He should redo those fillings at no charge to you. Floss should have some resistance when going between the teeth just like teeth with no fillings.
