Fillings in teeth?

How many fillings do you have in your teeth?

and how old are you?

I am 15 and I have five fillings in my teeth. Do you think that is too much?

Fillings in teeth?
The amount of decay( cavities) in the mouth at your age largely depend on how aggresive the bacteria in your mouth is. You get that bacteria from you closest caregiver most likely mom starting around 30mths.Does mom or dad have bad teeth? You can blame them a little. To decrease bacteria oral hygiene is essential and you want to make sure you are not feeding the bacteria. Brushing twice a day will remove bacteria and flossing is essential since cavities start in between the teeth. Xylitol sugar decreases cavity causing bacteria in the mouth and is good subsitute for any candy or gums you use however it must be the first ingrediant. Avoid things that stick to the grooves of your teeth as snacks and keep those to meal time where other foods will help wash those down. Avoid soda which is not body or teeth healthy and juice should be kept to meals as well.
Reply:this is a subjective question, and I'm sure you'll get many different answers. genetics can influence your dental health, just as it can the rest of your body. it is possible that your teeth aren't as resistant, and it is also possible that you don't practice good oral hygiene. i would strongly recommend consulting with your dentist. there are many different fluoride treatments and prescription level toothpastes that you can begin using now, to prevent further fillings in the future. I'm 28 and i don't have any fillings... but my dad is a dentist.
