Teeth Fillings- I have some fillings put in by my dentist in July of this year?

I have some fillings put in around july of this year.I have been drinking diet pop.Dont know if this has anything to do with it.Anyway. I just started working october 15th and now sence I work I drink regular soda. But a week or two after I found out the tooth that was filled is chipping off. I looked at it closer today and found the one corner is chipping off %26amp; beside it or something my tooth looks like its cracking. Will the dentist beable to fix this or will it have to be taken out?

Have your dentist look at it. It is a good sign that you are not having any pain, it might end up being something small and easy to fix. Even if the tooth is fractured it doesn't always mean the tooth has to be taken out. If the fracture doesn't involve the roots and is not near the pulp chamber they can fix they cracked portion. If the crack is near the pulp chamber they may give you an option of root canal instead of taking the tooth out. Your best option is to see your dentist and have him evaluate it.

Soda is notoriously bad for teeth, diet or regular. Try to cut down or brush your teeth more often. :o) ~
Reply:f there's no toothache , the tooth can be refilled by the dentist. The reason for the chipping of of the tooth is that it has developed a secondary caries formation or the part of that tooth has tooth decay or dental caries again. Or it could be chipping off because the tooth is dead or has undergone root canal therapy. It's a procedure wherein there's toothache and still wants to save the tooth so instead of pulling it out the dentist can kill the nerves conducting the pain impulses, so you wont feel any pain at all. Since the tooth doesn't have already nutrient because it is dead, the tooth can become brittle and cause tooth fracture or chipping off. This kind of tooth is best treated by placing full crowns, or capping so as to prevent further chipping off of the tooth. The last questions depends on what you want. Pulling out of teeth are the last resort if no treatment is already possible.
Reply:APRIL,

SINCE IT HASN'T BEEN THAT LONG SINCE THE FILLING WAS PLACED, YOU MAY GET A NEW ONE. THE TOOTH MAY NEED A CROWN IF THE CRACK IS TOO GREAT.
Reply:Hello April.

I vvould recommend to rinse your teeth vvith equal parts of baking soda and common salt. This vvill, according to the Edgar Cayce readings, preserve your teeth and even aid in filling cavities. My front tooth has lost some enamel and seem to be vvorking to renevv same on my tooth.

Hope that helps. Take care.

Q-Give care of teeth so I vvill have less decaying.

A-Use as a massage for the gums and teeth an equal combination of Common Salt and Baking Soda; about once a month, add one drop only of Chlorine to a pint of vvater and rinse the mouth vvith this. Do not svvallovv it, but rinse the mouth and then brush the teeth. This vvill preserve them, even aid in filling cavities.
