Braces and fillings?

if you have metal fillings can you still get braces? or do you have to get the ones that look like your teeth?

Girl, of course! If you have a large filling, the orthodontist is going to put spacers (small rubberbands) inbetewen the spaces that surround that particular tooth to make room for a band with a bracket attached to it. No Biggie! Good luck!

Reply:the kind of fillings you have has nothing to do w/ getting braces . . . you should try to opt for enamel colored fillings when you can or youll end up w/ a ****-ton of silver in there and it looks bad, (personal opinion) but you can get whatever kind of braces you need regardless of the kind of fillings you have.
