Question about cavities/fillings?

I have a serious phobia of going to the dentist, but it's more of a teeth phobia. I was terrified of the dentist when I was younger so my mom gave up--I pretty much forgot that I had to go to the dentist, since I stopped going and never really felt the need to go. I went in for a regular checkup a few weeks ago and the dentist told me that I had 7 cavities. Since then, I feel miserable, I constantly panic, and I hate myself for not having taken care of my teeth. Two of the cavities feel sensitive when I brush, and sometimes I feel a discomfort when I eat hard cereals or chew gum. I had two fillings when I went to the dentist and one of them feels uncomfortable when I eat--it's not really pain, it's just discomfort. I've heard that if you feel the slightest of pain in your cavity or filling, then you automatically have to get a root canal because the bacteria has seeped into your nerve--is this true? It's not excruciating, it's discomfort--could it be that serious? I feel so depressed..

Question about cavities/fillings?
For a second you feel a pinch. That is the needle with Novocaine. After that no matter what they do, even pulling it, there is no pain. I have gone and got deep cavities filled with no Novocaine. The dentist says that he could not do it. It does hurt that way.

You are dealing with a bigger problem of fear and anxiety. A coward dies a thousand deaths but a brave man dies only once. It is about mental wellness. You will never be happy if you have fear. See site below to find out how to feel perfect peace instead. Here is a quote from site below:

A very famous American psychologist, Abraham Maslow (1908-1970), said "I can feel guilty about the past, apprehensive about the future, but only in the present can I act. The ability to be in the present moment is a major component of mental wellness." You need to learn to be in the present to be happy. Only the dentist (with X rays) can determine if you need a root canal unless your tooth is in excruciating pain.
Reply:Thank you Report It

Reply:the filling must be having a high point. Go back to your dentist %26amp; he will rub it off slightly. Its better to get the fillings done than the root cannal treatment. Fillings a very easy %26amp; fast %26amp; cheaper. Root cannal treatment is much expencive %26amp; more time taking %26amp; painful.
