Creative wonton fillings?

Yay :) I mastered wonton making in cooking class yesterday and would like some ideas for creative fillings. Beyond just porks and onions. What are your favorites?

Thanks

Creative wonton fillings?
A take on spanakopita

2 c Spinach, finely chopped,

1 c Leeks, finely chopped

1/2 c Feta cheese, crumbled

1/2 c Mozzarella cheese, shredded

1 tb Fresh dill, chopped

1/4 ts Pepper (2ml)

1 Egg

1/2 ts Cornstarch (5ml)

In bowl, combine spinach, leeks, feta and mozzarella cheese, dill, and pepper; mix well. Beat eggs with cornstarch; stir into spinach mixture until thoroughly mixed. Spoon about 1 tbsp. spinach mixture onto wonton; fold upper half over and pinch edges to seal. Place on greased baking sheet. Repeat. Spray wontons with olive oil spray. Bake in 400F (200C) oven for 20 to 22 minutes or until golden brown and crusty.

Pre-bake themin a muffin tin to form a little bowl. Transfer them to a cookie sheet as you pre-bake them. I make 48 at a time with two pounds of ground beef.

Brown your two pounds of ground beef with 1 chopped sweet onion. Drain and add two packages of Ranch Dressing Mix (dry). Mix well.

Spoon into the cups and top with grated cheddar cheese and place them back in the oven to melt the cheese.

Toppings can range from sour cream, shredded lettuce, salsa, and chopped tomatoes and green onions.

Enjoy!

Bananas.
Reply:I use them for Ravioli, quick and easy and the fillings are endless.
Reply:diced up pieces of shrimp with garlic, onion, ginger and soy sauce add some cream cheese to the mix and wrap into the wontons. Serve with some sesame ginger sauce!
Reply:I combine cream cheese, sliced green onion, a pinch of salt and small shrimp. Put a teaspoon in the center, fold them over and seal. Deep fry for 3-4 minutes, turning as they cook. Minced chicken breast, shredded cabbage, bean sprouts, garlic, soy sauce and ginger combined. Then fill the wontons, seal. Add a couple tablespoons of oil in a frying pan, cook "potstickers" on one side only. When the one side is nicely browned, add 1 cup chicken broth and cover the pan for several minutes, it will finish the cooking with steam. These are delicious.

Reply:I went to this great place called Din Tai Fung. They had more dumplings than you can imagine, all deslish. You have to download the whole menu, and it takes a bit of time, but it's so worth it. Not the same, I guess my wok isn't seasoned enough yet, but still great ideas.
Reply:Crab Rangoons, wrap like a ravioli or tortellini-style. Or press in mini muffin cups, fill and bake. Great appetizer size!
