Why would fillings fall out of your teeth?

the reason for fillings to fall out of your teeth

Why would fillings fall out of your teeth?
I've had a filling falling out of my tooth because of tooth erosion. At least, that's what the dentist told me. Your teeth sort of wear away over the years, and at a certain point, the filling doesn't fit anymore and it falls out.

But I am sure there are other reasons too. I just don't know any.
Reply:if any of the tooth around the filling eroded, the filling would have nothing to hold it in place, and it would fall out.

Or, bad dentist who put it in
Reply:Probably the filling is too old, time to get a new one!
Reply:You better go to your dentist to have it checked.
Reply:Due to shrinkages of the amalgam, which the substance the filling is made from.
Reply:Cold could be the reason. The filling material shrinks at low temperature. the rest is gravity.
Reply:Due to your bad breath they just wanted to get out of there fast !!
