Different Sandwich Fillings?

Anyone got any ideas for different sandwich fillings %26amp; finger food buffet.

Deli meats and cheeses, salmon, tuna, egg, vegetables, perhaps like a sloppy joe mix, pickles etc will all make nice sandwiches. As for finger food buffet, veggies and dip, fruits, crackers and cheeses, chips, bruschetta, chicken wings, mushroom caps, ribs, quesadillas, sausage rolls, bagels and pastries etc... Many options out there be creative.

Reply:Salmon and watercress with cracked black pepper, roasted vegetables with humus, cheese and onion (not different but always a favourite), ham cheese spread and pickle. Quiche, voluvaunts, peanuts, crisps, dips with crudites. If hot food, how about chips, sausage rolls, an Indian selection and a Chinese selection - you can buy the packs and heat them up. Salads, green, potato and coleslaw.

Reply:ricotta, bacon (cooked), shallots, sundried tomato and tomato relish... yummy. on multigrain bread

Tried smoke salmon... just a little horseraddish and and a small squeeze of lemon, plus a touch of black pepper...hmmm it was fab

You could always do pin wheel sandwiches. Cut the crusts of the bread and roll it really flat with a rolling pin. Spread the filling on one side and then roll the slice to form a swiss roll kind of effect. then cut slices from this, looks pretty and is different.

Reply:mozarella cheese with some romain lettuce with a little turkey breast or what ever meat u want to and just stuff it inside the pita bread and kinda toast it a little bit so the cheese will melt

Reply:for sandwiches you could use,pimento cheese,chicken salad,ham or tuna salad, try them on different breads such as rye,wheat croissants and white . the finger foods you could have a veggie tray, small quiches,chips and dip,fruit trays and add a bowl of mints or petit fours.

i had never thought of putting seeds in a sandwich before but i will buy some this week to recreate this at home.
Reply:Steak, lamb, salmon, lobster - I'm sure people won't be expecting those! Absolutely delicious, if it's within your budget.

Reply:When I do sandwich buffet i use oversize dinner rolls, deli sliced ham, roastbeef and turkey, a deli sliced cheese plate with monterey, chedder or pepperjack, a plate of shredded lettece and sliced tomatos, and bowls of condiments like mayo and mustard.





Finger foods i have a veggie plate with dip, greenonion wraps (deli ham with creamcheese wrapped around a greenonion), deviled eggs, a crockpot of baked beans and various chips in bowls.

1. Thinly sliced roast beef with a horseradish cream sauce on dark rye bread


2. Smithfield ham on mini orange muffins with cream cheese


3. Chicken salad with chutney on whole grain


4. Egg salad with currey, sweet relish, and mayonaise on white with crusts removed.


5. Baguettes with olive oil, grilled eggplant, sundried tomatoes and fontina cheese


6. Bruschetta


7. Green olive with cream cheese on white bread


8. Puff pastry wheels with black olive tapenade and fontina


9. Chopped cucumber, smoked salmon, and cream cheese on white bread


10. Crushed pineapple, cream cheese, candied chopped pecans on whole wheat with crusts removed.





For a buffet:





1. Cheese platter with crisp green grapes (Fontina, brie, Irish cheddar, Manchenga)


2. Meat platter (rolled french ham, roast beef, turkey)


3. Condiments (cornichons, olives, sweet gherkins)


4. Spanikopita bites


5. Brie in puff pastry

Reply:sliced roast pork with apple sauce. sliced ham with thin slices of cheese. sliced roast beef with horseradish.chopped hard boiled eggs with chopped tomatoes and mayonnaise. (don't put to much tomatoes) mar-mite pinwheels all-ways go down well with young children.chicken legs pre cooked (boiled) then cooled. and coated with breadcrumbs,can be frozen then DE-frosted on the day and deep fried.(a very safe way to be sure fully cooked.cocktail sausages also cooked on day put cocktail sticks in the ends.to serve. bowls of green salad. quartered tomatoes mixed with corn look very colour full.sausage rolls. make miniture cornish pasties.and some with just vegetables for non-meat eaters. pizzas /meat and non meat,crisps,nuts etc. bowls fresh fruit. hope this is usefull.

Reply:Just make a cheese and tomato sauce sandwich then microwave it for 30 seconds. Tastes ten times better.
Reply:You should try a diferent type of sandwich, using Lavash Bread (flat bread). You can use everyday toppings, ham, chesse, chicken, egg, lettuce, tomato etc. Once filled you cut into pinwheel slices and they look spectacualr on the plate, with filling facing up.


Very easy and always a big hit.
