I got a new job and need to have some cavities filled. How can I ask my boss to take time for this??

I went to the dentist last week and found out I have two cavities needing filled. I went ahead and scheduled the fillings early in the morning but realized that would be bad going to my new job with a numb mouth and drool. So... how can I ask my new boss to take some time for fillings? I would try to get the appointments as close to 5 pm as possible. I hate asking for something like this right off the bat. But my teeth are important and I want to get them taken care of! Ugh... I'm nervous.
