Why do you get an electric shock when you touch metal fillings with a metal object e.g a fork?
Why do fillings shock you?
A battery is created when two dissimilar metals are placed in acid. you have a filling which contains mercury, another metal such as tin foil or a fork, and your saliva contains acid. This produces a tiny current of electricity.
Reply:never heard of it
Reply:its a static electric charge and maybe reacting with a nerve in your tooth.
if its a problem for you, you may need to have them replaced with a non-metal filling (looks better too)
