do you think 5 fillings at the age of 15 is to much, or is it normal? it is more than my friends have :( :(
How many do you have?
5 fillings.?
There are many reasons why you might have more cavities than other kids your age--five seems like a lot but I have seen worse. You may have very grooved teeth that gather plaque and have small pits of decay in those grooved areas. You may drink a lot of pop or eat sweets that cause increased bacterial activity in your mouth... There are so many individual reasons.
Saying that the dentist is not being honest and that you don't need fillings is not very good advice. You have to have cavities filled they do not heal up, and left untreated you will have future problems much more involved and expensive than having five fillings done.
If you have doubts do go to another dentist but do not believe that they are not there and not have them taken care of!
You are not abnormal, cavities are not something you can compare with others-- they are individual and depend upon oral hygiene and diet and so on...
Reply:When a dentist finds that many fillings it is time for a second opinion with another dentist. Don't tell the second dentist of the first dentists findings and see if this one comes up with so many. My daughter had this happen and she actually had NO teeth that needed fillings!
Reply:well obviously your friends dont eat and drink has much junk as you!!
