My new fillings feel squishy?

I got two fillings yesterday (not my first either) and these feel squishy when my tongue touches them. I cant really describe it to be honest. They feel almost soft where as my others from previous trips feel hard. It's been a while so maybe I just dont remember correctly?

My new fillings feel squishy?
I think it should be a little soft at first, I remember mine doing that.
Reply:go back to the doc. they probably didn't dry them all the way. If its not better by monday, go see them...or try maybe sticking a tooth pick in them...then u can really tell...and if it works..tell them they need to make an emergancy appt for you now!
Reply:Okay here's the deal.

Amalgam fillings should not feel squishy after they have set up. The amalgam will be at its final stength after 1 hour and its final strength at 24 hours.

Composite fillings are set up with a curing light. The composite will be at its final strength when you leave the office.

If the amalgam is what you have and it feels squishy, it may not have been mixed right and even then it wouldn't pack in the tooth right. This means that the amalgam would be flaky but I don't see if ever feeling squishy.

If the composite is what you have, it may not have been cured long enough or maybe not at all. You would know if it wasn't cured though..they use a blue light and it's hand held.
